Sub Stat Analysis Notes
|
Overview of important sub stats in DBO Many mechanics are poorly documented in-game. This page explains how each stat works and when it becomes valuable. |
Main Stats
| Stat | Use | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| FOC | Hit Rate + Energy Crit Rate | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| CON | Max LP (prevents one-shots) | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| STR | Spin / Ball damage, raw Physical Attack | ⭐⭐ |
| SOL | Stronger heals, raw Energy Attack | ⭐⭐ |
| DEX | Physical Crit Rate, minimal raw Physical Attack | ⭐⭐ |
| ENG | Max EP | ⭐ |
FOC and CON are usually the only stats worth actively boxing for.
Increasing ENG is rarely beneficial: forms with EP Drain make higher Max EP detrimental, and Autopots / EP Pills usually make extra EP unnecessary.
Exceptions may exist for classes with extremely high EP costs:
- Dende Priest
- Shadow Knight
Damage Stat Caps
| Stat | Soft Cap | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| STR | ~400 | Backhit damage scaling |
| SOL | ~400 | Critical hit damage scaling |
These caps maximize damage bonuses such as:
- Backhit damage
- Critical hit bonus effects
However these stats are not worth boxing for directly.
Certain UDC Earrings scale damage based on stats:
- STR
- DEX
- SOL
- CON
- ENG
Exact caps vary per class and are not fully documented.
Roll caps (boxing): FOC — Weapons and Armor up to 34 per piece. CON — Armor only, up to 34 per piece (all three armor pieces can roll it).
Attack Speed
Attack Speed is the most important stat for Speed builds.
Even a 1% difference near cap drastically changes DPS.
Example:
| Attack Speed | Hits / Second |
|---|---|
| Below cap | ~3 hits/sec |
| At cap | ~5 hits/sec |
Attack Speed Cap
The higher your weapon’s Attack Speed value, the more Attack Speed % you need. Level 70 main weapons set the cap:
- 93% – slower weapons (1100)
- 95% – faster weapons (1400)
| Weapon Speed (Level 70) | Cap |
|---|---|
| 1100 | 93% |
| 1400 | 95% |
Sources
- Weapons (26% each), UD6 Armor Set (7%) — 59% total from these
- Buffs, Transformations, Titles, Chips, Dogis
Special bonuses:
- Karma Majin Buff
- Attack Speed Potion (40 Boss Tokens for 3)
- Stinky Mushroom Dogi — helps with attack speed but does not directly increase the Attack Speed stat (reduces delay)
Critical Hits
Critical Hits combine two stats:
- Crit Rate
- Crit Damage
Default critical damage:
~50% extra damage
Formula:
Final Crit Damage = Base Crit + Crit Damage Stat
Note:
Crit Damage does NOT increase bonus damage from "critical hit bonus skills".
Crit Rate indirectly improves them.
Caps
| Stat | Cap |
|---|---|
| Crit Rate | 66 |
| Crit Damage | No Cap |
At 66 Crit Rate:
1% Crit Damage ≈ 0.66% DPS
PvE requirement:
✔ 66 Crit Rate
PvP requirement:
✔ Higher due to Anti-Crit
Sources
Crit Damage:
- Weapons (34% each)
- Kaioken (25–55%)
- Chips (4% each)
Crit Rate (usually not boxed for — lower max rolls; typically capped via):
- Passives
- Buffs
- TMQ7 Armor Set
- Chips (2% each)
LP% on Hit (and EP% on Hit)
Vital for high LP classes (e.g. Warrior Namekians, Mighty Majins), especially when tanking (e.g. Dark Warrior). After being hit, recover X% of damage taken as LP or EP depending on the stat.
Important rule:
❌ If the attack would reduce you to 0 LP, the effect does not apply and you get KO’d.
Low LP classes should prioritise CON; even high LP classes should get enough CON to survive dangerous AoEs.
Cap
Maximum: 50% LP on Hit
Meaning:
Half of incoming damage can be recovered.
Sources
- Top Armor (26%)
- Lower Armor (26%)
- Dogis (12%)
Special buff:
Ultimate Majin Buff
- +16% LP on Hit
Allows swapping one LP roll for CON.
Movement Speed
Movement Speed is crucial for:
- Spin builds
- Ball builds
- Mighty Majins
Cap dramatically increases hit ticks.
Example:
| Speed | Hits/sec |
|---|---|
| Low Speed | ~1.5 |
| Cap Speed | ~3 |
Cap
Spin / Ball tick cap: 75%
Movement itself has no hard cap. Affects dash distance, but not flight speed.
Sources
- Chef / Ultimate Majin Passives
- Boots
- Titles
- Dogis
- Movement Speed Chip (15%)
- Karma Majin Buff
- Movement Speed Potion (40 Boss Tokens for 3, like Attack Speed Potion)
Cooldown Reduction
Each point of CDR gives 0.7% less cooldown on skills at the time they finish casting.
Formula:
1 CDR ≈ 0.7% cooldown reduction
Cap
70 CDR → 50% cooldown reduction
With RP spent on Cooldown Reduction, some skills become spammable. Examples:
- Saiyaman Dance → 0s cooldown (can cap CDR with Stinky Mushroom alone)
- Dragon Buffs → ~30 min cooldown
Sources
- Earrings (main source from boxing)
- Chips
- Buffs
- Class passives
Optional:
- Rings (often worse than other options)
- Stinky Mushroom Dogi (−15% cooldown)
Properties (Props)
The strongest stat for both offense and defense.
Effect:
- Increases damage dealt after calculations
- Reduces damage taken after defenses
Essential for:
- Melee DPS
- Tanks
Ranged classes benefit once other stats are covered.
Practical Caps
Properties have no in-game cap; the limits below are the most you can realistically get from gear and buffs.
| Type | Maximum |
|---|---|
| Total Properties | 75 |
| Single Attribute (Wild, Elegant, etc.) offense or defense | 88 |
Sources
Major sources:
- Earrings (13 each)
- Mighty Majin Buff (14)
- Chef Buff (14)
- Ultimate Buff (18)
- Chips
- Titles
- Necklaces
- Ring Sets
- Dogis
Attribute Breakdown
Attributes can be imbued on Weapons and Top Armor, granting extra stats from wearing them. UDBO-exclusive; obtaining them works like vanilla. They matter when rolling for Attribute Atk / Def Properties.
Wild
Weapon: +2% Physical Attack. Armor: +100 Physical Defense.
Best for physical classes at or under 50% Crit Rate, and Spin / Ball builds; solid on physical armor sets. If you have high LP (Mighty Majin, Warrior Namekians), Honest may be better.
Elegant
Weapon: +2% Energy Attack. Armor: +100 Energy Defense.
Same as Wild but for energy classes and energy armor. Honest may be better if you already have high LP.
Strange
Weapon: +4% Crit Damage. Armor: +4% Anti-Crit.
Best for high Crit builds (51–66%). Anti-Crit matters more in PvP against Crit classes.
Honest
Weapon: +2% Skill Animation Speed. Armor: +2% Max LP.
Skill Animation Speed is hard to quantify; the Max LP boost is a strong general choice for high LP classes. On balanced armor sets, Honest can work for low LP classes too, though Wild / Elegant may be slightly better.
Funny
Weapon: +15 Hit Rate, +15 Success Rate (≈1.5 FOC). Armor: +20 Dodge, +20 Resistance.
Values are too low to matter much. Resistance and Success Rate can help a little in PvP, but other attributes are usually better.
