Sub Stat Boxing / Crafting / Balling Notes

Sub stats on gear — materials and roll choices

There is a lot of RNG involved. Don't lose heart when you don't get the stats you want right away. To put sub stats on gear you need Equip Boxes (or weapons/armor), Saibaman Essence, and Dogi Balls for Dogis. Crafting a Dogi also requires the recipe (from stylists in Korin Village, Cell Ring, West City). Materials are always the Dogi itself, Saibaman Essence, and occasionally Dye.


Sub Stat Materials

Craft Dogis FIRST — crafting a Dogi deletes any Dogi Ball bonus already applied.

Dyes: Buy from Korin Village Stylist for 150k each, or get one random Dye from Dye Boxes (weekly Time Room quests).


Equipment Sub Stat Rolls

All max rolls below assume Lv 70 gear. For Lv 63 gear (e.g. UD6 / TMQ7 Armor), take away about 10%–15%.

Main Weapon

Stat Max roll Notes
FOC 34 (≈340 Hit Rate) Most common choice. FOC gives the most Hit Rate; extra Eng Crit Rate is a bonus. Usually all you need. Very important for classes with low Hit Rate (e.g. Ultimate Majin — no Hit Rate buffs/passives).
Attack Speed 26% For Speed builds. More than a quarter of what you need to cap. You may need Sub Weapon Attack Speed too; if you cap without it, other stats are better.
Phy / Eng Crit Damage% ~34% For big numbers. Strong on Crit builds that don't need extra Hit Rate (often Energy classes; exceptions like Swordman exist).
SOL Niche: only stat here that increases Healing (bigger Dende Regens). Weaker for damage than FOC (unless you cap Crit Rate) or Crit Damage (unless low Crit Rate).
STR Niche: Spin / Ball builds on Mighty Majin. They have low Hit Rate, so FOC is usually better. Ulti Majin Spins need FOC here (even less Hit Rate than Chefs). May change with Hit Rate buffs (e.g. Turtle).

Sub Weapon

Hit Rate ~260 FOC Weapon's smaller option. Less Hit Rate than FOC Main; only useful if FOC Main isn't enough. Nearly a must for Ultimate Majin (terrible Hit Rate).
Attack Speed / Phy or Eng Crit Damage% Same as Main (26% / ~34%) Same caps as Main Weapon. Worth more here since Hit Rate is inferior to FOC; other stats also worse than Main equivalents.
Eng Atk / Phy Atk Smaller than SOL/STR on Main. Better on Sub than Main if you use FOC Main for Hit Rate.

Top and Bottom Armor

Tied together; same sub stat options with minor exceptions.

Stat Max roll Notes
CON 34 LP buffer for squishier classes (Human, Dendes, Wonder Majins). Most common pick. Tankier classes gain less; exception covered in Sub Stat explanation section.
LP% on Hit 26% per piece Top + Bottom can cap this (50%). Best for high LP classes and tanks. If you cap with one piece + Dogi + Frieza Chips + Ultimate Majin buff, roll one piece with CON instead. Best for Dark/Light Wave sets when farming Overworld.
STR / DEX / SOL / FOC Niche. Only if you can survive without extra survivability (e.g. classes that lower enemy Atk or Properties, like Swordman). Dex/Foc on Top, Str/Sol on Bottom. Generally not recommended — endgame hits hard.

Feet Armor

Stat Max roll Notes
CON 34 Only stat on all 3 armor pieces. LP% on Hit doesn't exist on Feet. Usually the pick.
Movespeed% 26% For Spin / Ball builds. Strong if going Spin. Con is better for survival; Movespeed% increases dash distance if you prefer to avoid AoEs.
FOC Niche: more Hit Rate / Eng Crit Rate. Con often still better; slightly more recommendable here since you may already have 2 CON or 2 LP% on Hit on other pieces.
DEX Phy Crit Rate + minor Phy Atk. Same logic as FOC.

Earrings

Stat Max roll Notes
Properties 13 (Lv 70); 8 or 10 (UDC Rare vs Legendary) Strong for Melee DPS and Tanks; best for survivability or damage if you don't need more CDR.
Cooldown Reduction 26 (Lv 70); 16 or 20 (UDC Rare vs Legendary) Offensively strong if not overcapped. Best for farming, especially without Stinky Mushroom (15% CDR). Crucial for skill-based builds; Properties still important.
DEX (and other main stats) Properties and CDR are usually better. Dex mentioned for max Dodge on Fighter/Chef (more PvP).

Necklace

Stat Max roll Notes
Attribute Atk Properties 10 Match your weapon(s). Only increases damage dealt. Need an Attribute on your weapon(s). Strong offense boost.
Attribute Def Properties 10 Match enemy attack attribute (or own Top Armor — needs confirmation). Take up to 10% less damage. Best when you need more defenses (Tank or Melee DPS). Harder to recommend for ranged; can help Dende.
Status Duration Down ~60% max For Confusion, Paralyze, Candy, Petrification. Very strong on Ultimate Majins (support) or Dendes (keep healing). Confusion is common (value from Piccolo/Goku UDCs).
Success Rate ~260 More PvP; niche PvE (EP drain as Chef, taunting).
Status Resist Chance ~30–40%? (max roll) Less recommendable (RNG; often lower value than cutting duration). Can help Dende avoid CC. Stronger in PvP (one resisted CC can win).
Resistance Rate ~260 Very niche in PvE. Only way to resist Stuns; need a lot. More for PvP (Stuns, DoTs, CC).

Dogi Sub Stat Rolls

Hair Dogi

Stat Craft / Ball Notes
Attack Speed 2% Craft / 10% Ball (12% max) For Speed builds.
Phy Crit Dmg% 2% Craft / 10% Ball Very strong for Phy Crit builds.
SOL 2 Craft / 12 Ball If not Eng class Speed build; only Eng-related stat here. Good for Healers.
Phy Atk 4 Craft / 20 Ball Niche. Spin/Ball or if next to no Crit Rate; else Phy Crit Dmg% is better.
Funny Atk / Def Properties 3% Atk or Def via Ball only Very niche (Funny Attribute is lackluster).

Outfit Dogi

Stat Craft / Ball Notes
CON 2 Craft / 12 Ball Same logic as Armor: CON for low LP classes.
LP% on Hit 2% Craft / 10% Ball For high LP classes. Same logic as Armor.
Movespeed% 2% Craft / 10% Ball For Spin / Ball builds; one of few sources. Extra value.
Strange Atk / Def Properties 3% Atk or Def via Ball only Crit-related. If you use Strange and don't need the other stats.
Resistance Rate 9 Craft / 48 Ball Low values; mostly PvP. Only other source with Necklace.

Mask / Glasses Dogi

Stat Craft / Ball Notes
FOC 2 Craft / 12 Ball Hit Rate or Eng Crit Rate. Competes with other good stats — check others first.
Cooldown Reduction 2 Craft / 10 Ball Strong if you need CDR; few sources. Good choice when needed.
Success Rate 9 Craft / 100 Ball More niche; values decent for those cases. More PvP.
Wild Atk / Def Properties 3% Atk or Def via Ball only Strong if using Wild (common). Competes with Foc and CDR. Good for Speed or Spin/Ball if no need for Foc/CDR.

Halo Dogi

Stat Craft / Ball Notes
Phy Crit Rate / Eng Crit Rate 1 Craft / 4 Ball For Crit builds; other stats here less strong for Crit. Best for Crit most of the time.
Hit Rate 9 Craft / 100 Ball For low Hit Rate classes. Not as strong as FOC; one of few Hit Rate sources on Dogi (other: FOC on Mask/Glasses). Good when not running Crit or Elegant Atk Properties.
Elegant Atk / Def Properties 3% Atk or Def via Ball only Strong for Elegant users. 3% damage often worth more than 5% Eng Crit for Eng Crit builds (especially if capped). Spin/Ball + Swift Title (15% Movespeed, 5 Elegant Atk) can run Wild Glove + Elegant Sub + Dogi Ball for 5–8 Elegant Atk.
DEX 2 Craft / 12 Ball Less Phy Crit Rate, small Phy Atk. Phy Crit Rate usually better unless you want more Dodge.

Back Dogi

Might be occupied by Stinky Mushroom or Very Heavy Stone (uncraftable / unballable). If using a normal Back Dogi:

Eng Atk 4 Craft / 20 Ball Niche; overshadowed by Eng Crit Dmg% unless more healing or very low crit on Speed build.
STR 2 Craft / 12 Ball Only physical stat here. Phy classes; not recommended for Spin/Ball (Stinky Mushroom too good).
EP% on Hit 2% Craft / 10% Ball Only way besides Top/Bottom Armor to get more. Great for Overworld farming or tanking (never run out of EP).
Honest Atk / Def Properties 3% Atk or Def via Ball only Rounds out Properties on Dogi; more niche. Other sub stats here often cover what you need, so Honest less desirable.
